Action Alert: Next Steps for the Great American Outdoors Act

The Senate has passed the largest conservation funding bill in decades! The Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) would permanently fund the Land & Water Conservation Fund, tackle the maintenance backlog at our national parks and other federal public lands, and put Americans to work while making nature more accessible to all.

Shortcut:

Low on time? Not on social media? Visit our Action Center to send a quick email directly to your Representative asking them to support the GAOA.

Let’s use the power of our social networks to thank our Senators and urge our members of the House of Representatives to support the legislation (H.R. 7092), where the action happens next.

First things first: say thanks

A thank-you note goes a long way, and Sens. Cantwell and Murray have been fighting for the Land & Water Conservation Fund for years. Take a moment to share your gratitude for their efforts.

On Facebook: Right-click to download an image from the gallery below, then post to your wall and tag Sen. Cantwell. This gallery’s images are formatted specifically for Facebook.

Senator Murray doesn’t use Facebook for official business, but you can contact her through her website (just note that method doesn’t allow for images or attachments).

On Twitter: Use the gallery below for images formatted for Twitter. Tweet at your senators and tag @Conserve_WA too!

Almost there: Urge your Representative to support the GAOA

The House votes next!

Facebook: Choose one more more images from the gallery below to add to your wall and tag your Representative in the House (check here if you don’t know who that is). Ask them to support H.R. 7092, the Great American Outdoors Act.

… or do the same on Twitter:

Stay tuned to our blog for updates as the bill moves to the House.

Thank you for speaking up for nature!
