Science at Home: Climate Change Resilience at Microscales in Forest Restoration

Join Kavya Pradhan, University of Washington graduate student and Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center fellow, for a discussion on a project incorporating resilience to climate change into forest management at our Ellsworth Creek Preserve. The landscape conditions that exist today are a result of patterns of light and warmth, water and nutrients. The conditions that make an environment optimal for survival and growth by trees and other living organisms, however, may not be the same in the future as it is on today’s landscape because of a changing climate.
