Protect Nature: Vote No on I-976

It’s time to vote NO on Initiative 976!

More transit options mean less pollution – cleaner air for people to breathe, cleaner water for drinking and for our endangered salmon and orca.

At a time when local, regional and state agencies are working to make it easier for Washingtonians to make healthier choices for themselves and our climate, Initiative 976 would bring much of their work to a halt.

I-976 would dramatically cut funding for public transit and maintenance of roads and bridges, making it harder harder for people to get around our rapidly growing region and further straining the natural systems we need to survive and thrive.

As the rains return in earnest and wash polluted stormwater off roads and into our waterways, the connection between the transportation choices we make and the health of our waters is almost literally visible. And as climate change continues to make headlines, we see that while nature can do much to sequester carbon pollution, people and society need to step up to take care of nature too.

Support the healthy communities that depend on nature’s resilience: Join us in voting No on I-976.
