Lucy is not new to gardening in the states. Originally from Kenya, she had farmed over the last few years at a location that recently shut down. When she learned about the garden, she signed up for a plot. But one thing is new — instead of growing to sell, she is now growing food for her family to eat and working with her husband and kids to grow that food.
She is looking forward to this new garden: “I am looking forward to coming here with the kids and spending the day here,” says Lucy.
