Chuckanut Island Ivy Pull

Bellingham, WA

Just north of Larrabee State Park in Bellingham Bay lies the small Nature Conservancy preserve Chuckanut Island, which was established in 1976 to protect high quality natural shoreline and rocky cliff habitats and the abundance of marine birds and mammals that live there.  We need 10-15 volunteers to pull invasive ivy that has started to spread on the island, in order to maintain its nearly pristine conditions.  This preserve features intertidal habitat, a wooded trail, and beautiful madrone trees on sandstone cliffs.

Volunteers for this work party should be comfortable riding in a small boat for 5 minutes to and from the island.
