Forestry Day in the Central Cascades

Join us for Forestry Day in the Central Cascades and learn more about the health of our forests!

Come enjoy the beautiful scenery of our Central Cascades forests near the shores of lake Cle Elum while listening to our science team discuss our restoration projects and goals for the region.  Afterwards, explore some of our trails and take a self-guided hike to Hex Mountain or relax and have a picnic!

Location:  Salmon La Sac Rd, Ronald, WA 98940

Cost: Free

Speakers: Brian Mize, Field Forester, and Reese Lolley, Director of Restoration & Fire, will demonstrate the importance of restoration thinning and other forestry techniques which help improve forest health and increase fire resiliency.

Directions: Meet at the Fire Station on Salmon La Sac Rd. at 10:00 am. Here a link to the meet up location. Look for TNC signs along the highway. We will leave the Fire Station promptly at 10:30 and will lead cars onto a private road to a rally point where we will begin our educational and scenic tour. Please try to arrive on time as the rally point will be difficult to locate without guidance.

Remember to pack a lunch and bring plenty of water in preparation for a hot summer day in the field. Don’t forget your sunscreen! Also note that there will be no restroom facilities at the Fire Station or on the preserve. Guests are advised to stop in Roslyn.
